An excellent meaty sauce for your pasta dishes. Serve it with spaghetti, tagliatelle or penne, but this sauce can also be used for many other things, like filling cannelloni or layering up a lasagne.
With so many options and the preparation time, it’s well worth preparing bigger quantity and store it in the freezer for another day.
• 6 tbsp Olive oil
• 400g of ground pork
• 400g of ground beef
• 1 Carrot
• 5 Celery stick
• 2 Onions
• 4 cloves of Garlic
• 2tbsp Tomato Sauce
• 1 can of Tomatoes (400g)
• 1 can of water (400g)
• Salt and pepper
1. In a large skillet, warm oil over medium heat and brown the meat, this will take about 20 minutes.
2. Add in the skillet some more olive oil if necessary and add the chopped carrot, celery, onion and garlic. Sweat for about 15 minutes.
3. Add the tomatoes paste. Let it cook stirring for another 10 minutes.
4. Add the Tomato in can and use the same can for the water. Let it simmer at low heat for at least 2 hours stirring once in while.
